Notes for Contributors

Articles in the Journal are expected to focus on academic biblical research, including both textual study of the Bible, and inter-disciplinary research on the Bible. The editorial board is committed to the internationalization of the Journal and to attracting submissions of excellent quality. These may include explorations of major academic issues by Chinese or foreign Bible scholars, as well as Biblical scholarship with a Chinese perspective or based on Chinese experience.

The Journal seeks original and innovative academic papers (ranging from 6,000 to 12,000 words), as well as essays reviewing new books or academic trends (within 3,000 words) in a relevant subject area.

Contributions are expected to follow international academic writing norms. The article should include a title in both Chinese and English (maximum 20 words each), an abstract (approx. 200 words), several key words (3 to 5 words), a brief biography of the author, and contact information. For detailed information on footnotes, please refer to our Guidelines on Footnotes. English footnotes are expected to follow The Chicago Manual of Style (17th edition) whilst Chinese ones should include Chinese Pinyin and English translation. Both foreign and Chinese references used in the text should be listed in a Bibliography at the end of the article.

In accordance with international practice, a double-blind review process is used; please do not reveal author’s identity in either text or footnotes.

If no notification of acceptance is received from the editorial office within three months of submission, authors may re-submit elsewhere.
